Purce asks if I’ll help win a case of beer from the other team.
“Sure, but how?”
“You need to be the fastest to jump out of a box and race 100 meters in 9 seconds.”
Near the beginning, I stumble and fall down. I never had a chance anyway.

I’m with Abe, getting ready to do some night skiing. Martin Mull, the resident pollster, tells us there’s Juicy Fruit in the lodge, which I believe. He asks if we liked the gum by singing a parody song of a Mission Impossible track. Once it gets to the part where Tom Cruise would normally sing, he starts singing an entirely different, mariachi song, explaining that Tom owns the rights to that entire part and so I wouldn’t be able to hear it.
Martin is being pretty annoying so I lean into it and start writhing around the floor, acting-screaming “I DIDN’T!! I’m sorry!! I WANTED TO BUT IT JUST WASN’T VERY GOOD!!”
Abe tries to dissuade me from causing a scene, which is the opposite of what would normally happen.
Martin follows behind for a bit. He stops being a pollster and now wants to be our friend.
We all step in an unavoidable puddle to get to the hill. I ask if everyone else’s feet are soaked. Martin says yes then politely offers me a piece of gum. A young woman approaches and does a very simple dance move, possibly busking but not even making that clear. Eventually we continue up the hill together.
