I go to what I believe to be a modest art exhibit.
There are thousands of people here, and it’s more of a fair than an exhibit.
I try to walk in one of the random rooms but am told the queue starts outside. Since I’m already here, I line up and wait.
A woman wondering if she should also get in line asks me what’s in the exhibit is. I shrug and admit I have no idea.
Someone closer to the front pipes in. “It’s a bunch of clips from different movies that blend seamlessly into each other using match cuts to make it feel like a trip.”
I assume it’s relatively loose and based mostly on lighting and blocking and props.
Still I consider how difficult this would be to do properly (similar to the Lose Yourself video made our of movie lines from movies) and think how it must have taken years. Once I realize I’m in a dream and it hasn’t actually been done yet AND it probably wouldn’t actually take that long, I decide I’ll just do it myself in real life and I’ll call the piece “Match Point”.
