I walk into The Ship, which is set up like a bar that shows up in other dreams sometimes, to watch the third period of a Habs playoff game. I go alone but see that Owen and Leah and a few others are also there.
Teddy Purcell, who’s playing for Montreal, ties it up at 2-2 on a wrist shot from the left hash mark.
Leah mentions that Teddy once did her a favour, something related to Jimmy Fallon, and we should call Jimmy to thank him.
Me: “Well I don’t have his number.”
I run into a guy who looks like Bart. We have a chat.
Me: “I’m going to get a beer.”
Offering to buy it for me, he hands me $100 to get him one too.
After paying, I’m handed two rum and cokes.
Me: “Wait, what’s this? What do you think I ordered?”
Bartender: “Two Malones.”
Me: “Malones? I would never order that. I didn’t even know it was a drink.”
He shrugs and then hands me around 4$ in change, which is not nearly enough.
I remind him I gave him a Bordie, which is what I’ve started calling $100 bills.
It seems like everyone working is in on the scam. Bart’s going to think I am too once I only go back with $4. I consider going to the ATM to get more money to give him. I remember that Dad told me to always say the amount of cash you’re handing over to someone which can help avoid situations like this. I wonder if that actually works.
