I’m browsing the inventory at a vintage clothes and record store and find the outfit — fur coat & schoolgirl tie — associated with the single “Lou Reed Covers The Kinks”, which I’d never heard of.

I buy it, then later discover that it’s a one-of-a-kind piece dedicated to the singer in a local punk band that she was supposed to wear during a TV appearance on January 9th, where her band is performing the song.

I can’t believe anyone would give up that sweet outfit, so I Google her, and it turns out she was murdered by her boyfriend Ed Head early on January 9th and never got to perform.

In the Kingsgate Mall parking lot, her roommate/bandmate is angrily shooting a pistol. I manage to calm her down, and she explains to me what happened — Ed threw an iodized explosive into their house, killing her and himself. I wrangle the gun from her and attempt to empty the bullets, but I’m not really sure how to do it.

A Police van drives by, and I scramble to conceal the weapon, finally managing to safely get it home.

[Dreamor’s note: As you have likely presumed, “Lou Reed Covers the Kinks” does not, as of this writing, doesn’t exist.]
